Here's a little help to help you prep for your session!
I know these type of sessions can cause a mixture of feelings/emotions for my clients; biggest emotion being anxiety. These sessions are great intimate gifts and most of all, great booster for one's self esteem and confidence! The week before the session will most likely be the most stressful. Don't let your negative thoughts try and back you out of it now! I prepared below a list of things for that week before the session day, to help prepare you and help ensure that the day of your session will go a little smoother for you and your photographer.
3-5 DAYS PRIOR TO SESSION
- Wax or shave and moisturize.
- Avoid those spray tans and tanning lotions. They can create an orange glow that may not be able to be retouched after your session.
- Drink plenty of water over the next few days to keep that skin hydrated.
- Make the final decision on your outfits. Talk to your photographer and ask questions if you need help deciding. They may need to know what you also chose to help them decide on any final decisions for your session and pose choices. Your photographer may also have a client closet available, if you cannot choose what to wear for your session.
- After deciding on your outfits, make sure they are clean before wearing and remove any tags.
1-2 DAYS PRIOR TO SESSION
- Get a fresh manicure. Neutral tones are the best when choosing a color for your nails.
- Avoid alcohol and keep drinking water over the next couple of days to hydrate that skin.
- Make sure to pack your bag for your session the night before and to check again to make sure you have not forgotten anything for your session. Feel free to ask your photographer if theres anything you need to make sure you don't forget.
- Make sure to get a good nights rest the night before your session!
DAY OF SESSION
- Make sure to arrive on time for any hair or makeup appointments. We will help fix hair and make-up at session, if needed.
- Moisturize your skin.
- Wear loose fitting clothing and undergarments to avoid any impressions on the skin. Helps the photographer out a lot!
- Eat a light meal. This will help ensure you're satisfied, but not bloated.
- Arrive early to your session, if session is not in your own home.
- If you and your photographer came up with a game plan for your session day, make sure to follow it for an easy day.
I really hope this helpful for any ladies who've booked a boudoir session.
